Problems of my Own. Those who know me well know that Ive been contending with my sister for years over inheritance, especially the family home. But she put off resolutions, distracted by other concerns and angling for a bigger piece of the pie. I tried to impress upon her the urgency of the situation, to no avail, warning her wed lose it all if she didnt act. Now shes gotten a notice of imminent demolition. Theres little recourse, I gather, at this point. This is a house my father and I worked on and expanded from a four-room shack to a twelve room mansion, digging out foundations by hand, adding on room by room. The living room is spanned by twenty foot beams, cleverly designed so as not to sag. There is a massive fireplace in the large living room with a raised hearth, designed to circulate the heat efficiently through the room. Ive many happy memories of the place through all its stages. All gone in a wink.
