Prof (Dr) Manu Kothari (19 November 1935 - 16 October 2014) passed away today in Mumbai. He was a Professor Emeritus of Anatomy at the Seth GS Medical College, Mumbai. He was a pioneer of new thoughts on Cancer and challenged President Nixons call in 1971 to eliminate Cancer from the World. In fact, he wrote a book The Nature of Cancer in 1973 exposing the myths and cruelties of US war against cancer. This book was later abridged as The Other Face of Cancer whose foreword was written by none other than Ivan Illich. Prof Kothari contributed his last article to Ekak Matra for its Cancer: Onyo Bhabna issue which is soon to come out. I pay my homage to this Great Soul.
