Professional Dress Clothing Drive! We all have suit jackets, pants, or skirts in our closet that no longer fit us (the holidays are a killer) but are in good condition. Perhaps you have a few ties or blouses that you haven’t worn in a while? Well, we can help! The Toppel Career Center will be collecting new and gently used professional dress items for our fashion event “Work It” from Monday, January 27 to Friday, February 7. Items that are collected will be donated to support University of Miami students and alumni as they seek out and obtain career opportunities through participation at Career Expo and other professional events. We will also be donating these items to the Chapman Partnership in Miami to support homeless individuals as they prepare for future employment. Please consider making a donation to help our students and alumni be successful and confident when attending networking events and interviews with employers. Ways to donate: Drop off will be in the Toppel Career Center lobby at our new location: 5225 Ponce de Leon Blvd. In addition, we will also directly pick up from your office location. Please call our office at 305-284-5451 for arrangements. You may also drop off items during the “Work It” Fashion Event from 10:00am to 1:00pm on Wednesday February 5 at the University Patio. We will only be accepting these professional items: · Suits: pants, jackets, blazers and skirts, in solid colors including navy blue, dark grey and black · Professional dresses, skirts, slacks · Women’s blouses, dress button shirts, cardigans · Men’s button down dress shirts · Ties We will not be accepting items deemed unprofessional for interviews/networking with employers: · Jeans/denim · T-shirts or casual cotton shirts · Shoes/sneakers · Shorts or capris pants · Anything soiled or stained · Costume jewelry For additional ways we can support you, please visit us at miami.edu/toppelintheclassroom.
