Professor Anibal Quijano wrote that the Europeans in the Americas stole the land of the Indigenous and then lumped the Aztecs, Maya, Aymaras, and more together into the single category of Indigenous and the Africans that they brought over to work that land were Yoruba, Ashanti, Zulus, and Congos and their identity got lumped into Blacks. Im with these young people who reject the identities assigned to them as Latino or Hispanic. They have a right to be; I recognize that we have a lot to unwind from the past 500 years.
