Professor/Associate Professor in Modern Design History The Bard Graduate Center in New York City wishes to make an appointment in modern and contemporary design history with a focus on Europe of the 19th and 20th centuries. Candidates with an interest in textiles and dress are particularly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to an established scholar with a substantial track record of publications and graduate training, but early-career scholars will also be considered. The BGC is a graduate research institute committed to the study of the cultural history of the material world, drawing on methodologies and approaches from art and design history, economic and cultural history, history of technology, philosophy, anthropology, and archaeology.
