Seldom if ever, did they ever attach a glorified title to their work, because as they learned from many years of producing quality work, proof is in the pudding. Ray Bradbury never said to me, “This is my book, Fahrenheit 451, a New York Times bestselling book,” NEVER. In those years, I’ve had the tough assignment of combing through work that bordered on flawless to find something to subjectively criticize as in need of repair. That’s a tough assignment when you are working with authors and scriptwriters of impeccable understanding of the English language. Not once did they ever say to me, “This is my highly acclaimed script.” Even when it was highly acclaimed, nothing need be said because proof is in the pudding.
