The purpose of this bill is to include “Agronomics” as an additional Real Property Tax Rate Classification, which shall include properties that use their land primarily for science, research and development of crops that do not directly gain monetary profit from the ultimate consumer. This proposed bill further clarifies the definition of “agricultural use,” by removing “horticulture” and excludes lands that are used primarily for the research and development of crops or parent seed production, which do not directly gain monetary profit from the ultimate consumer.
