Pros and Cons on Freighting animals. With a little luck there maybe something in this post for others to use. In the last few weeks i have had the pleasure and pain or using two separate freight companies. I would just like to show how different it can be. Both companies picked up from the exact same location and delivered to the same location. 1 The first gave a quote over the phone in a matter of minutes . The second sent me to a web site that took 2 days to get the quote sorted as the site is out of date. Also stated no pick up would be made with out the quote via the web site. 2 The first quoted $130. The second quoted $300 then $280 and we settled on $250. 3 The first gave us updates on a daily basis and even squeezed a extra pick up for us half way here with very little notice. The second had very little contact at all and only responded to a text when asked a question about arrival time. 4 The first delivered the animals if fantastic conditions. showed how they had been cared for during the trip. The second delivered the animals where arranged. Both are now very ill (12 hours after drop off) Both are extremely dehydrated and appear to not have eaten very much at all. One is being syringe fed warm water with condense milk for energy also a little vegemite and water but can still only walk a few steps then sits down where it remains. Has eaten a few grains for chick starter by it self and a little mashed veg via a syringe. At this stage i have my doubts we will be able to get it through the night. The second animal is now standing on its own being and eating by itself and looks like to will be ok. We will never use the second freight company again under any circumstances. While i wont name them on a forum i don’t have a problem with giving my views to anyone who would like to ask me. I am sure others have had good dealing with them in the past and this is the reason i have not named them in a public forum at this stage. The first freight company are fantastic and i will recommend them at every opportunity and will also name here I hope there is enough in this post to help others make a good decision with the freight challenges.
