Prosecutors said Gause falsified medical documents showing she was admitted to Boston Medical Center and Albany Medical Center in Albany, N.Y. She was never treated at either hospital, according to a criminal complaint filed in court. “She has absolutely zero ties to the Commonwealth, to Boston, and anywhere else in Massachusetts,” said Assistant Attorney General Gina Masotta during Gause’s arraignment. Gause and another individual were seen on surveillance video withdrawing $377,500 from a bank in New York July 12 and dropping it off at a home construction company as payment for a new house, Masotta said. Masotta said almost all the allegedly stolen funds were frozen and are in the process of being returned.
