Proud to announce that Zachariah will be under the compassionate care of Dr. Koushik. An accomplishment in the way to discover the possibilities in my families future. His devotion to Autism and cognitive disabilities supersedes his education and experience. In our conversation this morning he stated that in relation to Autism in the province (Saskatchewan) it is fragmented. I am hoping for a specific diagnose and recommendations of treatment. Funding and treatment, intervention and accessibility of support is easier with a label. Its a sad reality, then the treatment plan is the next hurdle... In no way is anti psychotics, mood stabilizers or tranquilizers medications, a treatment to subdue the symptoms of Autism. The brain is powerful and can heal itself... repair... re-wire.. re-engage... Treatment includes ABA, specialized health providers, therapies, dedicated schools and programs, integration in all areas of socialization, understanding and education. Why do I need a Pediatric Neuropsychologist with a multi layered doctorate in psychology to back my views on treatment? It is beyond me? other than the fact of simple ignorance plays a role in our health fields and lies in our government. A Pediatric Neuropsychologist is the key to provide Zachariah with the adequate care plan. As end of our conversation, a devoted doctor that wants to follow my son throughout his childhood - to ensure he is looked after, a discounted flat rate for consultation, assessment and reporting service, no waiting list... I only booked next month because I have a week off school, discounted rates of all services in his future. Dr. Koushik recommendations of care will indeed be in place as Autism is his passion and Zachariah is mine. Advocating for Autism is a common interest we both share. PLEASE SHARE to promote awareness and quality of care in our children who need it the most. *********************************************************************************************** Dr. Nikhil Koushik Registered Doctoral Psychologist (Provisional) #957 We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Koushik will be joining our practice in May 2014.
