Proud to be both an alumnus and former employee of ICC. When Cessna closed down its training facility on ICCs campus, it left a huge shop area open. They converted it to the Fab Lab complete with 3D printer, laser cutter, etc. Even before its official grand opening, great things are already coming out of it. A local 13 year old girl was able to get a new prosthetic hand for only $50 in materials thanks to the ICC Fab Lab. The presentation to her is shown on this video. On another video, it showed someone else with a similar 3D printed hand that inspired them to do this for this girl. That person had a regular one which cost him over $40,000. The 3D printed hand cost $50 for materials and he said was able to grasp much better than the expensive one. Very cool!
