Proud to vote to pass five pieces of legislation that crack down on human trafficking, provide tools for law enforcement to prosecute human trafficking criminals, as well as provide vital resources to aid victims in their long recovery. As a father, there is nothing more horrible to imagine than my girls or anyone’s children being taken and forced into the sick world of human trafficking. The pain and suffering that the victims and their families go through is beyond measure, and it’s difficult to comprehend the level at which these horrific crimes occur around the world and right here in the U.S. The legislation we passed today is crucial to helping put a stop to this epidemic in our country by holding all of those involved—from those that sell, to those that buy, and those that market these crimes—accountable.
