Psalm 35 is the prayer of one falsely accused and mistreated not only by enemies but also by those who have been the beneficiaries of his goodness. For the Christian, the psalm is striking in it evocation of the sufferings of Christ. Even in a situation of perplexity and complete helplessness, the psalmist expresses complete confidence in Gods justice and anticipates the prayer of thanksgiving that will arise in response to Gods answer to this prayer. Has any difficulty of yours even approached the dire situation described in this psalm? The psalmists confidence should give you strength to trust God completely. O Lord, you are our salvation. Whenever you ask God for something, thank him already for his answer. Even if you do not know how he will answer, be certain he will answer in the way that is best for you.
