Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help - TopicsExpress

Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult. Dear Brethren, on a personal level, I have always taken great comfort in my belief that God protects me, and, of course, all other people. I turn to God for protection when life gets me down or when I fear something. I have done this at some very sad or difficult times of my life. It is at those moments that I have looked to God with greater trust and my firm belief that God will care for me. It is from God that I have found the strength to carry me through these dark valleys into the light again. At such moments, God has been my refuge, my shelter, my place of safety, my sanctuary, my home. I have experienced the comfort and the reality of this psalm.
