Psychologists state young children model themselves after their same s*x parent. If they have none as a result of their conception being a booty call, what happens to their development? The only temperament they know is that of a female. They have no idea of how to be a responsible, contemplative male. So like a female every slight is exaggerated. Every imagined wound is multiplied. Too often among young AA men, hurt feelings end in the street. It has to be a correlation between the thousands of fatherless young males and the corresponding rate of incarceration. Black ministers have told young Black folks they so long as thy holler “Jesus” they can do whatever they want. “Only GOD can judge me” is their battle cry. So, they have s*x w/o protection. They become pregnant by a male they were not in a LTR and the resulting child is not wanted. Males can no longer deny the kid but he resents having now to form a partnership relationship w someone he doesnt know well or never loved. The child is a reminder of their mis step in judgment. Didnt use a condom to avoid a disease or pregnancy. Now a baby w/o a caring father. Yes, I know some successful folks were raised by single mothers. But nature intended children to have TWO parents. The AA community has taken what is UN natural and made it their norm. Has anyone considered that these young men have internalized a collective and profound sense of abandonment? Are they hunting those folks ( absent fathers) by proxy? There is more to this but Black religious conventions (organizations) need to do more to help mold these young folk into law abiding citizens! What’s up with being baby daddies, with a felony record in the grave, and or incarcerated?! Watch The First 48. Boys 21 have two, three kids en route to prison for decades or being buried by their SINGLE moms!!!! - Anike
