Public service announcement.... Do yourselves a favor during the holiday season (especially Thanksgiving). When using your kitchen sink garbage disposal...dont use it any more than you usually would. Thanksgiving day and the Friday afterwards tend to be my busiest service call days as a lot of people use their sink as a garbage can, clogging up drains with potato peels, turkey gizzards, egg shells...etc. In my opinion, the disposal was one of the worst inventions, however if used properly, it is a convenience. While using the disposal, use lots of cold water as it helps keep the motor cool and let it run for 20 to 30 seconds after shutting the disposal off. This lets all of the crap clear out of the drain piping. It will keep money in your wallet not having to call the plumber and it will let me sleep in on Friday.....thank you for your time :)
