NRF2 = PREVENTION & TREATMENT OF EYE DISEASES Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) is a redox-sensitive transcription factor, and binds to antioxidant response elements located in the promoter region of genes encoding many antioxidant enzymes and phase II detoxifying enzymes. Activation of the Nrf2 pathway seems protective for multiple organs.
