Puppy update: This Sunday, Raider and his sister, Lil Sugar, will be 3 weeks old! Raider is starting to walk really well and Sugar needs just a little more time to get the motions of walking down. It doesnt help that shes a BIG girl! Mama Grace is an amazingly loving and attentive Akita mommy. What a beautiful spirit this girl has! She is so affectionate and grateful and fun! She trusts any and all with her babies as long as she trusts them and thats largely based on whether we, her humans, trust them. Pups are starting to eat mush and are loving it. Tomorrow, the little family will be going to the vet to see Dr. Ron as Lil Sugars left eye isnt opening up and we want to make sure there isnt a physical problem preventing it. In the meantime, we love watching them grow and change each day and feel blessed we were able to make such a difference in Graces young but formerly hard life and give her babies a chance to be born healthy. In 10 short days, the little family will be leaving us for Colorado where their new families await. Pups and Mama Grace will stay together until the pups are weaned, and while we are a little sad, of course, this is life, and each member of this little family has hit the Lotto, so for that, we are excited for them all.
