Purple Mountain Majesty on my Mind I woke from a delusional dilemma Civilization always in chaos Boiling in the madness Of a home cooked crook Blessings are lost in the blaze Even Crystal Balls Loose their shape In that kind of inferno Yet I awoke to another day My eyes bleary and glazed over The poison I drank last night Still thundered in my head I went to the door to let the world in again The sun still shining Mother Earth lay in a haze Just beyond the Asphalt Jungle I said to myself, whispering Rather be jawing with a rattler in the desert I might get more true, intense excitement that way So I packed my bags Headed for Death Valley Stopped by the Liquor Store Bought a jug of Everclear Water is free Yeah right Somewhere along the way The rain began to fall I was lost in the miracle Like a waterfall from the heavens Stars were born in the myst They were shooting up Ascending into the vastness beyond As I looked on in awe Revelations were a distant memory This was the way it always begins As the mystery fell My spirit became uplifted I stood so stupefied Night fell as a curtain opened What I saw Left a hard lump in my throat Purple Mountain Majaesty began to rise in my Minds Eye A great Mansion materialized at the zenith Spires reaching to Galactic Center The Starlings gravitated there Then I saw a sign lit up like Las Vegas It read Welcome to your next Shelter On the House No expenses spared but shared The Family of Humanity Has reservations to feast here In the Forever Place The truth of it all is as simple as setting YOURSELF free No cover charge necessary © 2014 Roderick Dwayne Gering
