Putin may have solved the Syrian crisis. I believe the crisis was probably solved at the recent G-20 meeting when Putin and Obama held a private meeting to discuss the Syrian incident. I believe Putin had to look into the eyes and soul of Obama to see if Obama was serious about miliatary action before offering such a proposal. This goes at the very heart of the "deal" when one leader of a nation assesses the other leader and makes a calculation about what the other leader might do. Each leader has a massive data bank of "intelligence" about the other. If one has followed Obama closely, he uttered these words during his campaign in reference to the capture and termination of Bin Laden: "I say what I mean and I mean what I say". I believe this is what Putin saw in the "soul" of Obama and it mad Putin realize that his ally, Assad, in Syria would ultimately be destroyed if a political solution was not found.
