Pygmy goat question - can they be used for milk and meat? We were unexpectedly given 7 goats (5 female Pygmy and 2 male Nigerian Dwarf) and are not real sure what to do with them. We believe 3 females are pregnant and will know in a few months. So once they give birth can we continue to milk them? Can we slaughter for meat in the future? Truly goats are a new thing for us and I really am lost with what to do with them other than play with them. We were not going to get goats but a dear friends husband passed away and she could not handle them by herself (shes in her late 60s). I have heard you can do all types of things with the milk, but I dont even know where to start cause what is found on the Internet is so overwhelming and seems complicated. Also rumor has it you can make paint brushes with their fur? Anything else? Suggestions or recipes or processes? Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
