A: I think as an author you almost have to. When you write you cant help but view the world through your own eyes. Even when I write characters I dont like such as Lokesh or Randi I have to understand the evil or the condescension by using my own experience with it. Not that Ive ever encountered someone like Lokesh its just that I had to give him a reason for becoming what he was in a way that I would believe it. It needed to make sense for me. If another person was writing his character they might not need the same level of reasoning because their life experience is different. I think all my female characters get a little piece of me or of other women I know. Lilliana in the Egypt series and Kelsey in the tiger series both reflect a few of my traits but the character Im most like is probably Jennifer. In both of my series Ive inserted me and my husband. Jennifer and her husband in the tiger series and youll have to tell me if you can find me in the Egypt book after you read it next year.
