Q: Justice in larp sign-ups? Problem: Some of the knutepunkt school of games has filled up fairly fast because of more interested players than spaces to be filled at the game. Previous answers: The principle of first come first served has sometimes been argued to provide a fair (equal) chance and therefor a just possibility to participate. Why not? Not everyone can sit online at a given time, not all have the same access, skill etc and you need to be in the loop to know the time too. Also being just in this manner might not at all be the best way to keep promises regarding safety, setting and artistic aims. Although casting with what you get is an interesting artistic approach, it might not be the best solution for all games. Proposal: A two months application period to sign up through a form that also offers players a chance to give input about themselves, why they want to be at the game and what experience they want to contribute too. This is then followed by a casting of apron 50% of characters according to well described criteria (like equality factors, artistic vision etc and where we know (of) you aint one). For the rest theres a lottery to cater to equal chance too. Players with dyslexia can of course fill out form orally. Comments? Opinions? Experience?
