#QLD #Corp SIPPY DOWNS – hazard reduction burn. QFRS along with Sunshine Coast Council will conduct a burn of 4.5ha of grassland on the Sunshine Coast University site, starting about 9.30am today weather permitting. The burn will be in the vicinity of Cairncroft Place, Windemere Way and west of Claymore Road. Local residents have been notified by letterbox drops and volunteer rural firefighters will also doorknock the area throughout the day to alert residents. Large amounts of smoke may cover the area. Asthmatics and people sensitive to smoke are advised to stay indoors and keep doors and windows closed. Motorists in the area should drive to the conditions.
