QPS have Light your Drive campaign in the spotlight at the moment (excuse the pun) RAAG has its Light on and Live campaign which was active a few months ago. They both sing the same tune: Visibility is KING> The easier it is to be seen the less likely it is that you will be involved in a crash. Daytime Running Lights are sufficient during the day so if your vehicle is fitted with DRLs make sure they are on. FOG LIGHTS ARE NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR DRLS OR HEADLIGHTS UNLESS CONDITIONS ALLOW THEIR USE. if a car is pulling out to overtake, particularly from behind a heavy vehicle, or caravan, they can see an oncoming car if it has DRL’s or headlights on , in fact they often pull back and avoid a speeding erratic overtaking manoeuvre, endangering the oncoming drivers. Tanker drivers report it is very effective on roads like the Peak Downs Highway where there are numerous shadows from tall trees each side of the highway. Turn em on... Lights on and Live and Light Your Drive.
