QUESTION FROM A MINION NEEDING ADVICE: I need to know what other parents do when they have a gifted child that skips work on purpose because they think theyre too smart. OK this is what happened... my son who is in fourth grade has been pretty lucky in the learning dept, he has basically passed everything since the day he walked in school. Well we moved to a new house, new school, different class mates and suddenly now hes not doing his reading homework on purpose. We have to pick report cards up from the teacher, so when I saw his reading grade was a c and his teacher said he failed his reading test with a f ,I was shocked. So we talked about it and she said he just wasnt turning in homework or not completing it. So today I looked in his back pack and he always has two jackets, in the second jacket was his reading homework and all of them were bad grades for about kid that can read well. Its obvious that he didnt even try and when I asked him about it he said he wanted to go play outside! Basically Ive taken his tablet but he doesnt really use it so I need a creative way to push the point across that he cant be lazy and still make good grades. I just am so upset with him. Help!
