QUESTION FROM A READER (Please read the WHOLE thing before answering or forming an opinion). I currently live in a city that has a predominately Caucasian population. I myself am a 30 year old black woman that happen to prefer black men, but I am open. However, it seems to be a trend in this city where successful black men have a white girlfriend or wife. In my opinion, its almost a fad. There are times black guys act as if I dont exist. I am college educated, have a good job, dress nice and carry myself well. But I am starting to feel like I am unworthy of both black and white men. I dont seem to have a place and it frustrating at times. I must add, the young black men that work at Subway or the gas station, etc, seem to always be interested in me. Though I respect that they do have a job, I dont want to take care of anyone anymore. I did that for 8 years. But I feel like all of the attention that I get from not-so-successful men is starting to lower my standards.
