QUESTION OF THE DAY: - Entertainment is a big business in Nigeria, Ghana and elsewhere because they have the laws and structures in place. Nigerian faces are what you see in most billboards and TV commercial in Nigeria instead of foreign acts. Recently, MTN mobile company facilitated a big collaboration song between Davido and Mafikizolos. The Nigeria artist and their S.African counterparts could rake hundreds of thousands of dollars as royalty from the company when they use it as ringing tone. Back home, the story is different, nearly all bill boards, and TV commercials are faces of foreigners. Airtel mobile company is sponsoring a Ghanaian TV series on SLBC TV spending millions of Leones when we have filmmakers that could do the job. This will never happen elsewhere. Is Airtel helping the movie industry in Sierra Leone?
