QUESTION OF THE DAY - Nov 6, 2014 What restaurant/mom and pop diner or eatery of any kind ... within 30 minutes of your own home ... is your favorite and one you would recommend to others? Well Ill tell you the truth! I used to LOVE to go out to eat once in a blue moon, just for a little break ... until we started hearing all the horror stories about different places and Ive had the chance to see a couple of the Report Cards with all the local restaurants on it ... that gave their rating for this and that and one of them was cleanliness. And places that I thought I liked to eat ... had a rating of 85% or so in the cleanliness category. Aaaawwwww geezzzzzz ... Now theres just no excuse for a cleanliness rating below 98% or so in a place where lots of people are EATING. Because theyre not talking about a little flour on the counter ... theyre talking about grime and grit thats been there a while ... and TOO LONG of a while. Im afraid that just gave me a HUGE trust issue with all restaurants. Until they closed last spring El Chicos was absolutely my favorite place to go if we were going to eat out. And from what I could see ... it looked pretty squeaky clean to ME. And the service was always awesome and the workers were very friendly. Right now ... I dont even HAVE a favorite place to eat out. I love going to Cracker Barrel! Their breakfast is super and I LOVE the atmosphere. But I cant even remember the last time we went there. SO - What restaurant/mom and pop diner or eatery of any kind ... within 30 minutes of your own home ... is your favorite and one you would recommend to others?
