QUESTIONS & ANSWERS (MORE DIALOGUE BETWEEN ME & MY NEW FACEBOOK FRIEND) Q: Does popular resistance entail killing Jews? A: Unfortunately, since Zionist oppression of Palestinians entails murdering Palestinians, resistance will inevitably entail murdering Jews. But I believe non-violent resistance will get us where we need to be more effectively than violent resistance, even though the latter is a legitimate option for any oppressed people. Q: I think that the killing of 6 million of our people in Europe and close to 15,000 in the wars and terrorism with the Arabs is more than enough. Justification of violence against my people justifies violence against your own in a perpetuating cycle of hell. I pray that we will one day be able to exit this cycle and create a safe society for both our people. A: Well, as long as you believe that Jews are the victims in Palestine, rather than Palestinians, whose lands have been forcibly taken from them and whose people are scattered around the world and in refugee camps and not allowed their right of return, it is going to be difficult to reach a point where Zionists acknowledge the crimes they perpetrated against Palestinians and reparations made. These crimes are ongoing, right now and right here, as we speak. Q: What about the crimes perpetrated against the Jews who were forced out of their homes in Arab countries? I fully acknowledge that the Muslim people have suffered as a result of the Nazi desire to destroy our people. But extolling the virtues and path of Haj Amin al-Husseini who was entrusted by Hitler to set up concentration camps in Palestine in 1941 will not help your side. It needs to be recognized that what happened in the past was injustice to both our peoples. What Id happening in Gaza is an injustice perpetrated by Hamas and fueled by Israeli reactions. Were the people in the West Bank allowed to vote tomorrow for their government in a free election they would vote Hamas because they are the only non-corrupt organization who has actually brought about social reform and dignity for their people. But this comes at the price of hatred of the Jew and the Zionist. A: 1) The Jews who were forced out of their homes in Arab countries, regardless of the circumstances, should be allowed to return to their home countries if the wished. I hear that many of these Jews are unhappy in Israel, as their Arab culture is unacknowledged and they feel discriminated against and torn between two worlds. 2) Palestinians have not suffered as a result of Nazi crimes; they suffered as a result of Zionist ideology, which predates Hitler by several decades. 3) Blaming the victim, whether in the form of Haj Amin, Hamas or the people of Gaza, who are mostly refugees from towns that are now Judaized or erased from the face of the earth, is self-serving logic.
