Quality Not Quantity Heaven is a holy place for a prepared people. Are you preparing well enough to ensure you enter this most holy place? Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. 28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Matthew 7: 21 - 29 God is keen on standards. As we can see from many portions of scripture he tells us to get our act right, he encourages us to be righteous and disciplines us when we misbehave. Modern culture has begun to frown at the concept of discipline. Teachers in different parts of the world cannot perform their duties as well because they feel constrained from applying discipline to their pupils. Yet the Bible is clear from the passage above that Gods standard is unchanging. There are so many Christians in the church today that will be left utterly disappointed. We have many churches that want ever increasing numbers of attendants but if the quality of the people as Christians is not increasing then what a sorry state of affairs. We have nations with millions claiming to be Christian but if the private and public conduct does not match what we profess then what a waste. If we claim to be Christian and take bribes, is this not a waste of time? If we claim to be Christians and embezzle public funds for personal use is this not a waste of time? If we say we belong to Jesus and do not speak the truth have we learnt anything from Christ? If you abuse your authority, are you qualified for heaven? If you lie steal and cheat in business, is the spirit of God really in you? If you steal someone’s husband or wife, can you then pass Gods test? What if you repay evil for evil, will God look the other way? It is the quality of our lives that matter to God not the quantity in church. So many will be shocked on the day of judgement, I hope neither you nor I will be one of them. Remain Blessed
