Quantum Entanglement, the Greatest Mystery in Physics : When they produced an element with a short lifespan called positronium in the laboratory, consisting of an electron and a positron spinning around each-other until they annihilate, they found out that it produced two photons which happened to be entangled. The two entangled photons, -no matter the distance between the two particles- react instantaneously throughout the cosmos. Einstein found entanglement disturbing and called it spooky action at a distance. He published a paper called EPR (Einstein, Podolsky and Rosen), which argued against non-locality, but the paper ended up proving a point for quantum physics. Numerous experiments demonstrated that non-locality in entanglement experiments existed. There are two other methods discovered over time that produce entangled photons. One of which consists of beaming a laser onto a diamond, the other of beaming a laser onto a calcium atom. After the calcium atom is struck by the laser-beam, two entangled photons are emitted by an electron in the calcium atom while it is returning to its lower energy state after being excited by the beam. Because the instantaneous changes in both particles violated Einsteins speed of light principle, he found it more plausible that the interactions were predetermined rather than them being produced by something interacting faster than the speed of light between the particles. According to EPR there were two possible explanations. Either there was some interaction between the particles, even though they were separated, or the information about the outcome of all possible measurements was already present in both particles. -Wikipedia Quantum entanglement was used to perform the first ever quantum teleportation experiment with success in 1993, then in 2013 and 2014. Presently, the record distance for quantum teleportation is 143 km (89 mi) with photons,[6] and 21 m with material systems. -Wikipedia
