Question #2 Anonymous wrote, Im a 23 year old woman. I have been suffering from high anxieties and intrusive thoughts for four years now. The symptoms have been away for a long periods of time but come back when my stress level is high. The thing that is causing me the most anxiety and fear are actually sentences and words that Im trying to avoid. Im afraid that sentences and words that I face everyday (for example sentences in advertisements) would get stuck in my head and for some reason I would have to reminisce or/and repeat them in my mind. I highlight that I dont have a need to repeat it but I fear that I still do. Example: Im shopping and my fear comes to my mind. After that I see a sign that says welcome. I catch that word into my mind and start to fear it. I tend to reminisce the word. Im afraid of it and that I would have to repeat it in my mind -> panic attack. This happens everyday and I am really exhausted. I have been on Cipralex for two and a half years. I slowly quit it when I was feeling better. I started the medication again 5 months ago and I feel like its not helping me anymore and my anxiety is worse than ever. Luckily Im starting to see therapist in couple of weeks. Does any of you have similar symptoms? If so, could you help? How have you dealt with them? Thanks =)
