Question: Does the Bible say come as you are? Answer: While the concept of “come as you are,” if understood correctly, is biblical, the precise phrase “come as you are” is not found in Scripture. But, again, the Bible does have a variety of verses that imply the same message, based on Gods amazing grace. Basically, what the Bible is telling us is that we have all sinned and fallen short of His glory. We have all done things to ourself and to others that was not pleasing to God. But because of His amazing grace we can wash away our sins with the blood of Jesus. We can come to Him regardless of how we are living or whatever circumstances or situations we find ourselves in. Sometimes that phrase gets used to tell people to come to the house of God dressed in whatever they have. The house of the Lord still needs to be respected. If you only have a t-shirt and jeans, pull your pants up and tuck your shirt in. For the ladies, Im sure you have another blouse that does not show every inch of your bosoms and another skirt that does not end at your crotch. But it also means we need to accept people into the body of Christ regardless of what theyve done or how they look. I myself have a tattoo and 2 holes in my ear. Does that make me any less saved or any less able to be saved? No. But it does mean those things I used to do, I cant do any more. Jesus sent the woman away from the well and told her to sin no more. I think the church sometimes forgets they were once that woman at the well. They forget they used to drop it like its hot in the clubs. They forget they were once whoremongers, thieves, and liars. We have to start telling the truth. We werent born praising the Lord. Some of us were messed up for a loooooong time. But there is power in the blood. Saving power, healing power, delivering power. So lets start making an effort to get people into church. Let them know they can Come as they are. #Godbless
