Question Number 3: My answer.. 3. The three main reasons why teachers fail to achieve maximum effectiveness in the classroom are the following: 1. poor classroom management, 2. deficiency in methods of instruction to deal with different levels of student abilities, 3. and lack of necessary resources. There are a few actions that a principal can take to assist a struggling teacher and to those who are newbies or neophyte in the teaching profession. But first let us do a recapitulation about the critical role of classroom management and its effects to our learners. I believe that we educators play various roles in a typical classroom, but surely one of the most important is that of classroom manager. Effective teaching and learning cannot take place in a poorly managed classroom. If students are disorderly and disrespectful, and no apparent rules and procedures guide behavior, chaos becomes the norm. In these situations, both teachers and students suffer. Teachers struggle to teach, and students most likely learn much less than they should. In contrast, well-managed classrooms provide an environment in which teaching and learning can flourish. But a well-managed classroom doesnt just appear out of nowhere. It takes a good deal of effort to create and the person who is most responsible for creating it is the teacher. Next stuff is the deficiency in methods of instruction to deal with different levels of student abilities. Let us take a glimpse about how important methods of instructions are. Students have different levels of motivation, different attitudes about teaching and learning, and different responses to specific classroom environments and instructional practices. The more thoroughly instructors understand the differences, the better chance they have of meeting the diverse learning needs of all of their students. There are actually three important categories of diversity that are considered to have important implications for teaching and learning. These are the differences in students learning styles, approaches to learning, and intellectual development levels. The last one is the lack of necessary resources. In education, resources are very significant in the teaching ang learning situation as well as im the implementation of the standards and assessments. There are a few actions that a principal can take to assist a struggling teacher so that he or she will succeed in the classroom. Here are those few actions: 1. Professional Development- this includes pre-service trainings, peer mentor collaboration and lesson planning in which a teacher must have a creative ideas to uphold the interests of the students to learn. 2. Methods of Instruction-there should always be a specific objectives, data driven instruction and grade-level planning. 3. Provide resources-an immediate supervisor or manager must ensure to have enough supplies for all students, there should also be a time to view other teachers teaching/how classrooms run and are organized, the presence of books and videos should also be there to inspire the teacher. As a leader, one must help nurture and guide a struggling teacher so that they will grow personally and professionally and improve in their methods.
