Question for a soon-to-be Corgi mom, maybe some of you can offer - TopicsExpress

Question for a soon-to-be Corgi mom, maybe some of you can offer some advice: The breeder has a very limited breeding program and is active in the show circuits. We have been to their home and it is very clean and organized. The puppies are well cared for and are very active. The issue: one of the puppies started to have runny eyes with a clear discharge. The other two pups developed it a couple days later. The breeder moved up their vet appointment and took them to have it checked out. The breeders vet said it is mild conjunctivitis and prescribed tobramycin drops 2-3 times a day for a few days until it clears up. Generally I have read that runny eyes within a group of puppies is a warning sign. However I do not feel there are any signs of neglect, excessive breeding, or irresponsibility. The breeder took immediate action and disclosed all of the above to me. The puppies dam and sire are AKC champions and seem to have good lineages. Our pup will not be a show dog so we are only interested in the health and well being of the pup long term. Is there a danger of this being a sign of a potential chronic condition? Or could it just be a reaction to atmosphere, environment, etc? We are just really afraid of having a sick puppy but we did not see any signs of lethargy or anything else to concern us. Just looking for a bit of guidance given all the factors. Thanks!
