Question for all my christian and especially catholic friends: What do you think about the pope Francis blessing the US airstrikes in Iraq? What happened to thou shalt not kill? What about turning the other cheek? I do understand that christian people(kids) are dying. It is very disturbing and hurts my heart. However it seems to me that at a time when the christian values are being tested the most, the pope is condoning violence. Responding to violence with violence has never led to peace. Look across the world right now.... Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, etc...etc, even here in America in MO... Violence leads to more violence, you may suppress a people for a time, but that only leads to hate and eventually more violence. IMO making decisions based on Love, Trust, and Truth is the only way. Im not saying whats right or wrong, simply wondering how the christian community feels in reaction to the Popes position?
