Question for anyone who has had a horse choke on feed - TopicsExpress

Question for anyone who has had a horse choke on feed before. My Thoroughbred choked on his ADM senior glo last night and had it coming out of his nose, just a bad situation in general. I was told by the vets to soak his feed or give him a textured feed. He did work through it on his own, but this is also not the first time hes done it (minor before), but this was also the worst hes ever choked. He would not touch his mash this morning. So Im looking for some recommendation on textured feed that you guys have had a lot of luck with feeding to a hard keeping thoroughbred. Thanks guys!! Also He cried all night last night to the other horses, yes I could hear him inside. :( we were told to keep him separated with no feed and access to water. So this morning during breakfast I put my mare(his girlfriend) in the stall next to his so hopefully it would have somewhat of a calming effect on him instead of him being distraught.
