Question, my ancestors were born in Cape Town South Africa. My Father came to the states when he was a young man. (30 years old) I have heard pros and cons my entire life. (Am I an African American, since I am one generation removed from SA. My family claims both, myself I am in a quandary about what do I say when asked about my race. Or is it not really important to anyone except my family. I am white.
