Question on Notice Council write to the Minister of Planning seeking a moratorium on small pockets of land in the Rural Zone. Comments There are existing small parcels of land in the rural zone here in the Burnie municipality and in other municipalities which are currently vacant and consequential not benefiting the community as a whole. However, if the opportunity was made available for these parcels to be developed for residential usage then there is an opportunity for rural areas to once again see a the population increase and the usage of country facilities like schools shops becoming sustainable. Therefore a moratorium for a period of time as was made available in the past is seen a progressive step.
