PM Narendra Modi launched Born Again on the Mountain by Arunima Sinha Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a book tittled Born Again on the Mountain by Arunima Sinha. She is the first Indian amputee and first female amputee to climb Mount Everest. The book is about her unforgettable story of hope, courage and resilience. She was a national level volleyball player who was pushed out of a running train by thieves in 2011 as she attempted to fight them off. The accident cost her left leg and sporting career, but it never deterred her. Two years later, she retrained as a mountaineer and became the first female amputee to scale Mount Everest. 6. Prime Minister of Haiti Laurent Lamothe resigned following anti-government protests Haitis prime minister has resigned, after violent anti-government protests over delayed elections. I am leaving the post of prime minister this evening with a feeling of accomplishment, Laurent Lamothe said in a televised address. Protesters had called for President Michel Martelly and Mr Lamothe to resign. Mr Martelly was to have called polls in 2011, but they were postponed in a stalemate over electoral law. Opposition politicians accuse President Martelly of wanting to rule by decree and that legislation that would authorise the vote unfairly favours the government. The government argues that opposition politicians are dragging their feet in the hope of extending their time in office without elections. 10. Inflation hits a zero, lowest in over 5 years Wholesale price inflation hit the zero level in November, the lowest in about five-and-a-half years, on account of a decline in prices of food, fuel and manufactured items. The Wholesale Price Index (WPI)-based inflation was at 1.77 per cent in October and 7.52 per cent in November 2013. According to data released by the Government today, food inflation fell to a nearly three-year low of 0.63 per cent. Food inflation has been on the decline since May. This is probably the first time when WPI inflation has hit the exact zero level. The last time WPI was lower than this was (—) 0.3 per cent in July 2009. 11. The transaction will reduce Reliance Capitals leverage by approximately Rs. 700 crore, through a combination of transfer of debt of RMW and infusion of cash proceeds. The deal excludes real estate owned by RMW at IMAX Wadala and other properties, which are intended to be separately monetised for an approximate value of Rs. 200 crore.
