Questions for people who understand math: In a game Im working - TopicsExpress

Questions for people who understand math: In a game Im working on, twelve-sided dice are rolled. Each die is attempting to roll a certain number or lower (target number), and the more powerful the action the more dice a player rolls.... (multiple dice are NOT totalled, each die is checked against the target number) SO... I want to figure out basic probabilities for that: If player rolls ONE d12, and the target number is 12, obviously its 100% If a player rolls ONE d12, and the target number is 1, its 8.3% (right?) If a player rolls ONE d12, and the target number is 2, its 16.6%.... (I think) ETC. BUT... what happens when you increase the number o dice rolled? If a player rolls TWO d12, and the target number is 1... If a player rolls TWO d12, and the target number is 2... If a player rolls THREE d12.... etc.... So, I guess, its always easier to just roll percentile dice to figure stuff out, but for various thematic and tactile reasons, I really want to use a handful of twelvesided dice... and I want to be able to adjust the TARGET NUMBR and the NUMBER OF DICE ROLLED.... Help with your math skills?
