Quick Hurricane Iselle update while weve got power. We had strong winds, but I dont know that they were much stronger than some of the winter storms Ive lived through (thank goodness). There was a lot of concern about a couple of large trees close to the house, but I gave them a good talking to before I went to bed and they stayed upright. Rain was intermittent, but not nearly as much as we expected. Today, lots of branches down and our road was blocked by a downed tree for awhile, though thats cleared now. It is eerily still and quiet and hot now. It seems that the southern part of the island took the brunt of the storm. Hoping that my Puna/Ka‘u friends fared okay...
