Quick update on John. He was playing in a mens indoor soccer league game on Wednesday and just changed directions while running and heard a pop. He turned around and yelled at the guy he thought kicked him in the back of the leg. When he saw that they guy was at least 10 feet behind him, he realized what happened and hit the ground. His achilles is ruptured but is still attached in some way because the calf muscle is in tact. So tomorrow morning he will have surgery (6 LONG days after the injury). If you know this man, you know this will be a very difficult recovery for him. His body is strong and healthy and he will physically bounce back quickly. However, not being able to drive or walk without crutches is going to be very very hard for him. He will be in a cast for about a month and then a boot for at least another month. He does so much for this family, its going to be a major adjustment having him out of commission but he takes such good care of us, it will be nice to repay the favor (if he will let us!!!!) We have seen friends and family go through major, multiple, difficult surgeries before so we are fully away how blessed we are that this is just a day surgery with a recovery in sight. Nonetheless, its gonna be a rough few weeks around here without John able to take care of us the way he does.
