Quick update on Makenzie: PLEASE READ For anyone reading this, I am Makenzies uncle. I have been so incredibly inspired and uplifted by the support and outpouring of love I have witnessed for Makenzie and the Lewis family, both in person and on this Facebook page. It confirms what I have already believed: Makenzie is a special girl and touches each life she comes in contact with for good. Heather and the rest of the Lewis family essentially have that same effect. In the days I have been at the hospital it seems like there is a revolving door of the hundreds of people that love Makenzie and this family. I had a chance to actually go back and see her today for a couple of minutes and it appeared she has made some giant steps forward. Her blood pressure even rose some upon my speaking to her and telling her of our love for her. This prompted me to step out of the room so as not to trouble her. I visited briefly with the nurse and with Carol (Heather’s Mom) and it was clear the support for Makenzie has been inspiring to some of the medical staff as well. The nurse was tactful, but was also clear in communicating that no more then a very brief visit was the best way to support Heather and Makenzie as she faces this intense part of her recovery so as not to over stimulate her. In fact, overstimulation is counter productive and could do more harm than good. So that is something to keep in mind. Makenzie needs rest and her mom ☺. Please keep this in mind when planning to visit, or during your visit to the hospital. So with that in mind, it is here I will offer my love and support to Makenzie: Makenzie, you are inspiring! Not one minute goes by that my heart is not with you in prayer for your recovery. I know there are literally thousands that feel the same way. We Love You. We have also set up a blog that contains the “official updates” or posts from Heather and Ryan so everyone can follow the story chronologically and know where they can look to get the most recent news on Makenzie’s recovery.
