Quoted from my wifes post on Julianas website: Juliana had an exam and blood counts yesterday at the hospital. Her hemoglobin was good and her platelets have come up from last week, but her ANC was not quite 400. This means she is neutropenic--not something that should happen from taking oral chemo, but Julies bone marrow is really tired after more than three years of constant chemo. After a long conversation with her oncologist, we decided to stop the oral etoposide and switch back to oral cyclophosphamide for a couple weeks. If her ANC comes back up we will probably make another switch to oral irinotecan. Juliana is also continuing to get mistletoe injections three days/week. Today our family went to Six Flags Amusement Park. Juliana had a great time--her favorite ride was a roller coaster called Roar. She also really liked the white water raft ride and the water park. Monday is her first day back to home school. After school on Monday afternoon shell be at a Red Cross blood drive in Hanover, PA in her honor. If you are able, please consider donating blood--blood donations have been down all summer and people like Juliana depend on them! Julie is scheduled to return to the hospital for an exam and blood counts on September 2nd. caringbridge.org/visit/julianacarver
