Quran says,surah Maidah,chapter no.5,verse no.35……..seek d means of approach(al waseelah)to him(Allah). Meaning of al waseelah………………………. Waseelah is nearness& d means by wch 1approaches& draws near to something in d islamic context,waseelah refers to d means by wch once can achieve nearness with Allah. Another meaning of al waseelah is a rank& standing with Allah as is d hadith.d Prophet Mohd.(saaw) said,when u hear d caller to prayer then say d like of wat he says,then send blessings upon me then ask Allah to grant me waseelah bcaz it is a station in paradise,wch is appropriate only for a single servant from d servants of Allah& I hope dat it vl b me.(sahih Muslim,vol.no.1,Hadith no.747) D meaning of waseelah as explained in d Quran……………………. D definition of waseelah,it is d means by wch 1 achieves nearness to Allah has its basis in d Quran says,surah Isra,chapter no.17,verse no.57….Those whom u call upon desire for themselves means of acess(al waseelah)to their Allah as to wch of them shuld b nearest& they hope for his mercy& fear his torment verily,d torment of ur lord is something to be afraid of! Abdullah ibn Masoud®said:dis verse was revealed concerning a group of Arabs,who worshiped a group of jin.d jin accepted islam wch was unknown to those peple who worshiped them.(sahih Bukhari,vol.no.6,Hadith no.238) Ibn Hajr(rahimahullah)said:d peple who used to worship d jin continued to worship d jin& d jin were nt pleased wit their worship,since they had accepted islam.& they were d ones who sought a means of nearness to their lord.(Fath al Baree,vol no.10,Page no.13)& Quran says,surah Maidah,chapter no.5,verse no.35……O u who believe! Do ur duty to Allah&fear hm.seek d means of approach(al waseelah) to hm& strive hard in his cause as much as u can so dat u may be successful. Ibn katheer(Rah)reported Ibn Abbas® saying in his commentary of dis verse,d meaning of waseelah is to draw closer.He also reports frm Qatadah,dis is dat u draw near to him by obedience to hm& through actions dat r pleasing to him.& ibn katheer(Rah)said:& wit regard to wat those Imams(ibn Abbas&Qatadah®)said there is no disagreement between d scholars of tafseer abut it waseelah is dat by means of wch 1 reaches dat wch he desires.(Tafseer Ibn katheer,vol no.3)These 2 verses& their authentic tafseer clearly explain dat waseelah consists of seeking nearness to Allah by means of righteousness in order to get closer to Allah.dis refutes any other explanation of waseelah to mean directly supplicating to d dead saints.It refutes d erroneous belief held by d DEOBANDIS of seeking TAWASSUL throught d status& honor of d prophets& saints.dis also refutes d incorrect Tafseer by d Deobandis dat….Moulana Ashiq Ilahi mentions is “Irshaadul Mulook”It is imperative for d salik 1 searching for d path to hv a shaik-e-kamil (spiritual guide)so dat d shaikh bcoms d companion along dis road&explain d ups& downs& d pitfalls of dis journey.Hence Allah says:O peple of eeman!adopt Taqwa god fearing and search for a waseelah(means) towards Allah.(Irshaadul Mulook,Page no.46) .........................Quran says,surah Baqarah,chapter no.2,verse no.111……….say produce ur proof if u r truthful.
