R.I.P. Another good man was sacrificed due to the irresponsible attitude of a hiker. Anakhutan Penang something to share and learn from the message delivered by this sad news.:- 1) When u r trekking in a group, please follow the instructions given by the team leader, never leave the group alone and go astray. If you have something urgent to attend to , always inform the group members or team leader before you leave. In case you need to detour to a natural toilet, leave your backpack on the visible path/ route, so other trekking members will know you need to attend to the natures call and will wait for you on the spot where u leave your back pack. This is extremely crucial during expeditions but it is a good practice even during our weekly hike. 2) Always listen to the instructions given by the team leader. Do not try to take short cuts by yourself especially if you are not familiar with the trail. Sharp cliff is only one of the many hidden risks. You may sometimes disturb some dangerous insects/ animals by stepping into their uncharted territories and wake them up, such ass bees. Please be considerate when you trek in a group. Pay attention to the safety of other trekking members and not just your own interest, even though it might just save you a few minutes trekking time. Remember, we are a team and safety of the team when trekking together is above all other self interests. 3) Lets not forget the ROOT of AnakHutan Adventurers Club : TEAM SPIRIT, TEAM SPIRIT & TEAM SPIRIT!!!!! This is what makes AnakHutan Club so unique and different from other trekking clubs. We do not emphasize on speed, load, gears or etc but rather on HUMANs attitude and spirit. Lets not forget that at the end, we are just human........ So please be humble and learn to respect the nature when we are on expeditions. Without TEAM SPIRIT, AnakHutan is nothing.............
