R.I.P. Tundun. Two years ago I was asked to speak at the service held for a former classmate of mine who was tragically killed while crossing the street at night time. What made the situation even more difficult for me is that the woman who was driving the vehicle had a son who was in the classroom that I was observing at the time. She had just begun to get her life together and the child, his little sister, and her (the mother) were all excited about beginning the next phase of their lives together and on the right foot. Unfortunately, both children had to return to a previous environment where danger is apparent and there is not much room for growth. It is sad to say that one wrong decision by her impacted not just Tundun, but her immediate family she cared for as well as those who knew Tundun best. While it certainly wasnt fair for this to happen to anyone involved, I certainly hope that we all can learn from what happened. Continue to look over us Tundun, as we know youre smiling down on us all.
