RAM always has an opportunity for adventure. While in the Philippines last year, our team was dropped off at the wrong location by a Canadian helicopter. As the only member of the RAM Airborne team, I was the only member qualified to hike into the interior to complete the mission. Due to the length of the hike, I had planned on this being an overnight mission. However, the local police decided to join me because I would have to hike through NPA (rebel forces) controlled territory. They drove us as far as they could, but then we had to hike. It was 10 kilometers up hill and into the interior to reach this village. At the end of the video a small mountain can be seen in the distance. We crossed this mountain to reach the village. When I had seen all the villagers, I was ready to call it a day and get some sleep. The police were not willing to do that. I had to hike another 10 kilometers out before sunset. What a day and what an adventure.
